I am a gastrointestinal surgeon with special interest in colorectal cancer surgery, laparoscopic surgery and anoproctology. I have lived and worked as a general surgeon in Ethiopia with experience in performing surgery in resource-limited settings.

I am a Norwegian medical Doctor
graduated from the University in Tromso in 2000.
I am married, living in Tonsberg with my wife and 3 children.

Research and publications
With the everlasting love and enthuastic support from my wife, I have been able to combine my mission trips to Africa with research on the vascular anatomy of the splenic flexure in relation to cancer surgery. I am forever grateful.
Tesfa
Tesfa is an Ethiopian word meaning hope, I want to contribute giving hope to patients in resource-limited settings. I want to emphasize the importance of global surgery when we as healthcare professionals from the priviliged part of the world reach out to our collegues. I want to stand with the local healthcare professionals, always remembering that they are the true heros and we are priviliged to be allowed to visit and support them.
